Variants & Options
How to create each, and when to use one over the other.
What's the difference?
How you utilise variants vs. options is really up to you, but there are a few important differnces.
- Variants represent the same product in slightly different forms — for example, different sizes or colours sold as separate listings. Each variant can have its own stock level and price.
- Options let you collect information from the customer before they add the product to their cart. This is ideal for personalisation (such as custom text or engraving), product-specific notes, or even colours and sizes when you'd prefer to manage that seperate and regardless of chosen variant.
